Deylon has been founded in 2006 by Eddy Phelizon and Eric Bidaut with the purpose of developping and marketing a dermo-cosmetic treatment of labial herpes based on mother tinctures and essential oils of plants.
Its headquarter is located 90, avenue Niel – 75017 Paris (France).
Eddy Phelizon is pharmacist, Master (DESS) of technology, University of Paris V René Descartes.
Eric Bidaut is a graduate in electronics from the EFREI, France, with a management degree from the Cranfield School of Management, UK. He spent 25 years in the high tech industry, then became involved in buyouts and the management of new projects.
During its first two years, Deylon got support from the University of Paris V René Descartes with access to the equipments of its galenics laboratory.
As a pharmacist, Eddy Phelizon frequently faced what his customers called cold sores. This outbreak of a viral infection is characterized by irritation, sensations of heat and pain. Taking into account that orally administered antiviral treatments do not demonstrate effectiveness and are not adapted to practical daily use, he decided to develop a formulation delivering sufficient effectiveness in the treatment of this highly common infection.
The conclusions relative to the treatment of infection caused by the VHS-1 virus are the following :
That is in assuring the healing and the restoration of damaged tissues, but also in anticipating it, that SilveRpès, formulation containing naturally occurring active ingredients, instantly reduces pain by its analgesic effect and dissipates the heat produced by the outbreak of herpes.
To convince him of the legitimacy of his work, Eddy Phelizon provided Eric Bidaut with samples of the product which had to become SilveRpès, suggesting to supply them to some of his friends suffering with cold sores. The feedback, great, was immediate. The product was qualified by one of the participant to the test as "The only thing, so far, which eases the pain and unsightliness of the virus". Eric Bidaut consequently decided to get involved in the project. Many months were required to industrialize SilveRpès, to concentrate on regulatory testing and to perform clinical trials which confirmed the efficiency of both formulation and galenic form.
The clinical tests conducted by Laboratoires Dermscan have later established :
